Accompanying projects is my passion.
Agility in the implementation of IT projects has established itself in contrast to the waterfall methodology and it makes sense. However, I advocate flexibility and practice a form without rigid standards. Every project and therefore every task requires a unique approach.
The following aspects are central to project management for me:
– Seeing the big picture (different perspectives)
– Available resources (employees with skills and technical tools)
– Methods that bring a project to its goal(SCRUM, Kanban)
– Identification of participants with the project goal (employees, shareholders, stakeholders)
– Decision-making
– Cost overview Project managers build what brings visionaries closer to their goal based on their mission. Both in the company itself and in projects, the aim is to motivate those involved to give their best and use their creativity to achieve the goal. Project managers are in a difficult position, as they have to accept the best ideas but not label the less good ones as bad. The ideas must be convincing and implemented carefully and step by step with digital business excellence.
I pay particular attention to 2 things:
– The correct separation of work and areas
– The strategy to ensure sustainable change
The costs of projects in the digital world can range from low to exorbitant. Even an agile project approach does not guarantee success. It is important for a company not to lose sight of the benefits of a project. I notice time and again that only the banal requirements are mapped in a PoC (proof of concept). My focus is on the requirements that can cause a project to fail. These must first be examined in depth. In IT and programming, these can include load tests. Specific test methods also exist in every other project. In my view, it is extremely important to understand the basis of IT in the era of digitalization and digital transformation. This ranges from memory allocation to the network and mathematical considerations of growth to infinity. Technology has its pitfalls. Some things can be thought about, others can only be learned over the years as a developer grows with the technology.
Implementing projects is my passion. Even if they are not my own, I identify with their success. I have been programming since 1999 and experienced the time when the memory and processing power of computers were not simply available in abundance, as they are today. But even today’s technology has its limits. During the production of my documentary, I worked with artistic geniuses that many others have failed to deal with.
It is my ability to see the skills and talents in my fellow human beings and to promote them. My aim is to use them in such a way that everyone performs at their best because they enjoy their work.
Studying physics taught me to isolate problems and play them through in my mind in order to separate the parts that can lead to the failure of a project. Managing a project is like playing chess, but the individual pieces are much more complex.
I can help you isolate the problem you want to solve and allocate resources. This ensures efficiency in implementation.
Deadlines and milestones are not just empty phrases for me. My head reliably puts the various parameters together. It calculates the sequence, costs and duration of the necessary steps and whether these are actually achievable. I am happy to accompany your project, define stories and tasks for an agile approach if necessary, record the circumstances from different perspectives or document status assessments. Things don’t always go as planned. This is where I develop my strengths as a communicator and help you with crisis management at any time.
Implementing, managing and advising on projects requires an understanding at various levels. In my work as an IT consultant in various industries and company sizes, I developed my strength in quickly gaining an overview of the big picture and understanding the details at the same time. It is not possible to see the full scope of a project from the outset. That’s why I manage and accompany projects flexibly and build concepts in such a way that they can be expanded to create the greatest possible sustainability in a rapidly evolving world. In my view, project management and project implementation are creative processes. Any fixed patterns result in a loss of efficiency or even failure.
To prevent a project from failing, I always look for the real problems in a task to find out whether it is fundamentally solvable.
My systems, which I wrote as a programmer, have been running for years without any additional effort, which unfortunately generates no work for me, but pleases my customers. I am not tied to one industry or sector. The more complex the problem, the greater my fascination.
